Aluminous magnesium spinel refers to magnesium oxide and alumina as raw materials, by artificial synthesis of spinel refractory raw materials.

The raw material found in nature is very little, industrial magnesia-alumina spinel are synthetic. 

Bauxite-based sintered magnesia spinel is made of high quality bauxite with Al2O3 content over 76% and high quality lightly sintered magnesia 

powder with MgO content over 95%, through multi-stage homogenization process, sintered in ultra-high temperature tunnel kiln at over 1800°C.
