Tabular alumina is a pure, sintered corundum with complete sintering shrinkage without adding any additives such as MgO, B2O3, etc.

It has a coarse crystalline, well-developed α- Al2O3 crystal structure with Al2O3 content of 99% or more.

It has a platelet crystal structure, small pores and more closed pores and the pore rate is roughly the same as that of electrofused corundum, 

high purity, good volume stability, very small refired shrinkage, and good thermal shock stability and bending strength after high temperature treatment 

for the production of resistant materials or castables, but the price is higher than other alumina.
